Kiran More has been working with Rishabh Pant for a while now. And on Friday as the Delhi Capitals cricketers arrived at the Wankhede Stadium for a training session ahead of their Indian Premier League (IPL) opener against Mumbai Indians, Pant walked up to More–who is the wicketkeeping consultant of the Mumbai outfit–for a short keeping session.
Pant was seen doing a round of catching session before the Delhi Capitals cricketer walked back to join his team-mates. Both of them later insisted that it was just a casual short training session.
After the England tour last year, Pant had worked with More at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and it was because of More’s guidance that Pant tweaked the hand positioning and body posture slightly, which helped him.
With the World Cup nearing, Pant looks set to book a berth and he will be hoping to make every opportunity count in the IPL.
For old times sake
It’s a scene Indian cricket enthusiasts haven’t seen for long. On Friday evening Sourav Ganguly evoked memories as he worked with the Delhi Capitals cricketers.
The new advisor of the franchise stood behind the nets and interacted with the batsmen if and when things went wrong. After a while, he was seen discussing a thing or two with coach Ricky Ponting.
He also spoke to Dhawan for a while, perhaps giving him a tip or two. As the session got over, Ganguly caught up with his old team-mate and Mumbai Indians Director of Cricket Operations, Zaheer Khan.
The duo could be seen talking for long and occasionally sharing a laugh or two.
A few minutes later, Delhi’s assistant coach, Mohammed Kaif joined them, perhaps to revisit old times.
