Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer drew positives from Delhi Capitals’ successful run this deteriorate notwithstanding slumping to a six-wicket better opposite a Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 2 on Friday.
“We had a unsatisfactory start, losing dual wickets in a Powerplay, and it was tough to redeem from that. They have extraordinary spinners. But we’ve had a good season,” Iyer said.
“None of a batsmen took a beginning to take a group by and there wasn’t a partnership buidling. It was unsatisfactory for us though a good learning,” he added.
Commenting on a Ferozeshah Kotla pitch, where a Delhi group struggled to win too many games this season, Iyer remarked, “It’s something to consider about [the Delhi pitch], we didn’t win too many home games, though we can’t protest about pitches. We’ve been practising a lot on delayed wickets.
“As professionals we can’t give excuses. we consider we’ve schooled a lot, looking during seniors like M.S. Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma heading their teams.”
Iyer led a group from front, finale a deteriorate on 463 runs from 16 matches during a strike-rate of 141.46 including 3 fifties. The 24-year-old, who led Delhi to a lass playoff in 7 years, pronounced he is enjoying a captaincy training curve.
“It’s a unapproachable impulse for me, station with them during a toss. They speak to me, share their experiences, and that’s good for me. I’ve listened Rohit (Sharma) and many of them speak about how formidable it is to be captain, and yeah, it’s not an easy pursuit to do, though I’m happy to be a captain. we am unequivocally unapproachable of a boys.
“Loving a approach we’ve gelled as a family. The coaches and support staff have been amazing. A lot some-more to come subsequent season. We’ve found a base, now is a time to grow,” he said.
