Darjeeling Assembly by-poll on May 19, opinion counting along with LS seat: EC

The by-poll to Darjeeling Assembly subdivision will be reason on May 19 and a votes will be counted along with those of a Lok Sabha seat, a Election Commission said.

The Assembly chair fell empty after a sitting MLA Amar Singh Rai of a Trinamool Congress quiescent following his assignment by a celebration to competition from a Darjeeling Lok Sabha constituency.

Polling for a Darjeeling parliamentary subdivision was reason on Apr 18 in a second phase.

The Election Commission on Friday night pronounced a presentation for a by-poll will be released on Apr 22. The final day for filing assignment will be Apr 29 and a final date of withdrawal of candidatures will be Apr May 2.

The by-poll to a Assembly chair in north Bengal will be reason on May 19 when a final proviso of Lok Sabha elections will be conducted in a southern partial of a state.

“After holding into care several factors like, festival, electoral rolls, etc., a Commission has motionless to reason a by-election to fill this vacancy,” a EC pronounced in a statement.

EVMs and VVPATs will be used in a by-election in a by-poll.
