GUWAHATI: Assam financial apportion Himanta Biswa Sarma’s entrance in parliamentary polls remained a jinx. BJP has strictly settled that Sarma is not going to competition polls this time and will combine on Northeast India.
BJP is targeting to win 19 to 21 seats in a 2019 Lok Sabha polls in Northeast India. Eight states of Northeast India have 25 seats.
It was speculated that BJP would margin Sarma from Tezpur constituency. Recently sitting MP from Tezpur, Ram Prasad Sarmah, left BJP as a symbol of criticism for not promulgation his name in a row of names of a candidates. Sarmah on Friday got assignment forms.
Sarma, who is a convener of BJP, floated a non-Congress parties’ height – North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA)- and over a years has emerged as a star supporter and pivotal strategist of a celebration in a Northeast India.
