In the run-up to the final phase of polling in the country on May 19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the Opposition, having seen the voters’ response in six phases of Lok Sabha polls, was resorting to hurling personal abuses on him.
Adressing rallies at Buxar and Sasaram, Modi said, “Opposition leaders know they cannot win, hence they are drawing satisfaction from hurling abuses. Those belonging to “mahamilavat” (major adulteration) parties are busy abusing Modi. There is no day when they do not abuse Modi.”
The prime minister was addressing rallies in support of Ashwini Kumar Choubey (Buxar), R K Singh (Ara), Chedi Paswan (Sasaram) and Mahabali Singh (Karakat).
Targeting the opposition, the PM said these parties never talked about development as “they are more interested in their own welfare.”
“These parties have taken for granted votes of certain caste and community. They took votes in the name of poor (Garib) but when the time came to repay them, they forgot them. They (opposition) believe in amassing wealth for themselves,” Modi said.
He also warned people against falling for rhetoric of his rivals and elect a weak and unstable government of those who “plundered the state exchequer and created lawlessness and anarchy in the state”.
“Mahamilavati people dabble in caste politics and replenish their own coffers, build bungalows and palaces for themselves and relatives,” he said.
Modi said his government had enough guts to wipe out terrorism and curb its menace ruthlessly. “Modi alone can wipe out terror outfits operating from Pakistan and the factories of terrorism in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) are on his hit list,” he said.
“This is a new Hindustan. On one hand, we have launched a cleaning operations against terrorists and Maoists, the opposition is supporting them. They are putting at stake country’s safety and security,” said the PM.
In Sasaram, the prime minister accused the Congress of leaving Jagjivan Ram (former deputy prime minister) in the lurch. “Jagjivan Babu was tortured mentally by Congress leaders.”
Jagjivan Ram’s daughter and former Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar is the Congress candidate from Sasaram. Praising Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Modi said, “Bihar under Nitishji has developed a lot and now it has shunned lantern and shifted to LED age.”
