Indore: A 25-year-old youth was beaten to death by three persons in a case of honour killing that occurred in Juni Indore area late on Sunday. Police recovered the body on Monday morning and arrested three persons in this connection with the murder.
City Superintendent of Police (Juni Indore) Kailash Malviya said deceased identified as Chhotelal alias Raju was found dead in mud on Manikbaugh Road at 8 am on Monday. After establishing his identity, police started investigation when it was revealed that three persons named Radheshyam, Sitaram and Bhagirath killed Raju.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Raju hailed from Bhopal and was staying here for a few years. He used to work in Choithram vegetable mandi where a woman also works. Woman’s cousin and accused Radheshyam had a doubt that Raju talks to her and has an affair with her. On Sunday night, the accused reached Raju’s place and started arguing with him over it.
They later took Raju to woman’s place and beat him black and blue in presence of woman. After thrashing him with sticks, accused dumped him in the mud and fled. The woman feared it, so he did not report the matter to police. It was only when police approached woman that she revealed whole incident. Police solved the case after recording woman’s statement and obtaining call details of deceased. Sources claimed that police have detained the accused. However, police did not confirm the arrest of the accused.
