Indore: 9 students hurt as villagers pelt stones at school bus

Indore: Nine students of a school were injured after a dozen villagers pelted stones at the bus in Khudel PS area on Saturday. A goat was killed after being hit by the bus, which enraged the villagers. Police booked 13 including a woman under IPC sections after rushing the children to the hospital.

According to the police, the incident took place near Qazi Palasia at 9.45 am. A bus of Soni International School carrying children from Kampel to school reportedly hit a goat, which died on the spot. Villagers of Qazi Palasia Nai Basti started an argument with driver. The situation grew violent and they began to pelt stones knowing well that children are sitting in the bus. As many as nine students from nursery to class VIII were injured in stone pelting. Police said children received minor injury. They were rushed to MYH and were discharged after treatment.

Police have booked 13 Rafiq, Shakil, Rashid, Arif, Shabbir, Asif, Naim, Nasir, Jawed, Naushad, Mehmood, Alpesh and Rizwana under Sec 147, 148, 149, 323, 294, 506 of IPC and started an investigation into the case. No arrests were made till filing of the report.  The accused are being searched in the area.
