‘Mr Finisher’ of Team India is on the verge of joining another elite list alongside Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. Earlier, in the 1st ODI against Australia, MS Dhoni completed 13,000 runs in List A cricket. And now, coming to the 2nd ODI, Dhoni again has a chance to add another feather to his cap as ‘Captain Cool’ just needs 33 runs to join Sachin, Virat and three others among Indians to have scored 17,000 runs in all international cricket.
The Indian batsmen who have achieved this feat so far are Sachin Tendulkar (34,357), Rahul Dravid (24,208), Virat Kohli (19,453), Sourav Ganguly (18,575) and Virender Sehwag (17,253). So far, Dhoni has amazed 4,876 runs in Tests, 10,474 runs in ODIs and 1,617 runs in T20Is.
At present, Dhoni’s form against Australia has been impressive. Against Aussies Down Under, Dhoni scored three back-to-back half-centuries in ODIs and also smashed one at Hyderabad in the 1st ODI against Australia.
