As the Lok Sabha election results are being counted, the BJP has gained a lead in all the seven seats in Delhi, leaving behind Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP and the Congress party. In seats ranging from East Delhi, North East Delhi to South Delhi and New Delhi, all of BJP’s candidates are leading in the race.
From North East Delhi, which is a contest between political heavyweights, Manoj Tiwari, who is BJP’s state unit chief is leading with Congress’s Delhi chief and former chief minister Sheila Dikshit, trailing behind. In East Delhi, which saw a controversial campaign between AAP’s Atishi and BJP’s Gautam Gambhir, Mr Gambhir is leading as well. Punjabi folk singer and BJP candidate from North West Delhi, Hans Raj Hans is leading against AAP’s Gugan Singh and Congress’s Rajesh Lilothia.
From New Delhi constituency, BJP’s sitting lawmaker is leading against Congress’s Ajay Maken and AAP’s Brijesh Goyal. From South Delhi, BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri is leading against AAP’s Raghav Chadha and boxer and Congress candidate Vijender Singh.
BJP’s Delhi chief Manoj Tiwari has expressed confidence of the BJP winning more than 350 seats.

Election Results: Grand welcome planned for PM Narendra Modi, who will reach BJP headquarters in Delhi today evening
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to reach the BJP headquarters and address a gathering of party workers on Thursday evening as the party was set to return to power, reported news agency IANS.
Although the counting was in progress, the trends released by the Election Commission for all 542 seats that went to the polls indicated the BJP was leading on 290 seats while the Congress on only 52 seats.
The party has planned a huge gathering for a grand welcome for Narendra Modi as it has invited people to reach its headquarters in large numbers.
“You are invited to join BJP’s victory celebrations at BJP headquarters at 6/A Deendayal Upadhyay Marg,” the message read.
BJP chief Amit Shah is also likely to reach the party headquarters around 2 p.m.
Parliamentary Borad, the BJP’s highest decision making body, is also to meet late in the evening or on Friday, a party official said.

Manoj Tiwari, the chief of Delhi BJP unit, said that his party will come back to power with more than 350 seats, as counting of votes for 542 Lok Sabha seats began on Thursday.
“Last time, the nation was looking for hope and made the BJP win with around 300 seats. But, this time, it is all about people”s trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and they all are happy with his performance. I am sure we will come to power with over 350 seats,” Mr Tiwari told ANI.
