Two killed after speeding lorry rams bike on Chennai’s Anna Salai

Two persons on a two-wheeler were killed after they were hit by a speeding water lorry near Spencer’s signal on Anna Salai on Tuesday. The motorist and pillion rider were killed on the spot after the lorry having hit them and ran over them.

The lorry was proceeding from west to east towards the LIC area. The lorry driver reportedly drove the vehicle in high speed even while jumping the signal. In the event, the driver los control and and hit the motorist who was moving on the same direction with a woman as pillion. In the impact, both the motorist and pillion rider fell down and were crushed under wheels.

The accident resulted in traffic being disrupted more than half an hour on the busy Anna Salai leading to major traffic jam.

The Anna Salai Traffic Investigation team rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to Government Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem.
