Man held for threatening to throw acid on girl

The police have arrested a 23-year-old man who threatened to throw acid on his ex-girlfriend, on Tuesday.

According to the police, Veerapandi, a mechanic from KK Nagar, was in a relationship with a 19-year-old college student. However, she broke up with him recently and shifted her house. Veerapandi met her near her college and harassed her.

On Tuesday, he went to her house and threatened to throw acid on her if she did not continue the relationship with him.

Based on a complaint filed by her, the Royala Nagar police arrested Veerapandi. Further investigation is on.
