Drop plans for multi-level car parking: Ramadoss

PMK founder S. Ramadoss on Thursday welcomed the opening of the first pedestrian plaza in the city at the junction of Thyagaraya Road and Bashyam Road in T. Nagar and government’s announcement of expanding the initiative to other parts gradually.

However, in a series of tweets, he said that the government’s plan for multi-level cark parking at T. Nagar is contradictory to the pedestrian plan.

Dr. Ramadoss said that multi-level parking is beyond science and it causes congestion and pollution.

He urged the state government to drop the planning for building multi-level car parks.

Dr. Ramadoss also urged the government to implement Non-Motorised Transport Policy 2014 in its fullest form and Bus Rapid Transit system.
