The CMRL also thanked the services rendered by staff and outsourced personnel for carrying on with the metro services during the strike on Tuesday. The CMRL had transported nearly 82,000 passengers despite the strike, the release added.

The release further indicated the body’s attitude to the sabotage activity in no uncertain terms: “CMRL is concerned about its staff welfare but will not tolerate any action which will cause inconvenience to our commuters. Service to our Metro customers is supreme.”
