82.7% voting in repoll at Poonamallee booth

The repoll at the Panchayat Union Elementary School at Mettupalayam in Tiruvallur district saw 82.7% voting till 6 p.m on Sunday.

The repoll was conducted for both Tiruvallur Lok Sabha seat and and Poonamallee Assembly seat in the booth. It was one of the 13 booths where the repoll was held.

A total of 868 persons, 406 males and 462 females, cast their vote. Sources claim that last time a total of 858 persons exercised their franchise. “A few persons came in wheel chair and women came along with their children,” said a police officer. Tiruvallur Collector Maheswari Ravikumar inspected the booth.
