Women workers of northern railway have created to a Railway Board observant that given a miss of changing room for them during many stations, their uniform should be limited to an apron that can be ragged over their unchanging clothes.
Sunita Dhiman, General Secretary of a women’s wing of Uttariya Railway Mazdoor Union (URMU) wrote to Railway Board Chairman Ashwani Lohani, requesting him to change their uniform, that is possibly a salwar kameez or shirt and breathe depending on a difficulty of work.
“There are no changing bedrooms for women staff during stations. We are only requesting railways to yield aprons to us that we can wear over a unchanging clothes. It will save us time as well,” Ms Dhiman told PTI.
“Also, a peculiarity of cloth granted to us for a uniforms are pure and of really bad quality. We can’t even wear them for long,” she added.
In her letter, Ms Dhiman has pronounced 93 women work during Delhi Railway Station, New Delhi Railway hire and Anand Vihar Terminal, and they have all created letters in support of a apron.
In fact, she said, women staffers from opposite northern railways have a same problem with uniform.
“We have trustworthy a representation print of a white apron with name and collection along with a minute so that they can get an thought about what kind of uniform we are gentle in,” Ms Dhiman said.
