Flight services during a Mumbai airfield were badly strike on Monday with several airlines cancelling as many as 225 flights, besides rescheduling scores of others, due to a closure of a categorical runway for 6 hours for pre-monsoon upkeep work.
The Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), that runs a city airport, has announced a closure of a categorical runway (O9/27) between 11 am and 5 pm for Monday and Tuesday.
As many as 225 flights operated by several airlines, including Jet Airways, IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet, GoAir and Vistara, were cancelled during a closure of a runway, an airfield central said.
The city airfield is a categorical bottom of Jet Airways and a bulk of a operations, both domestic and international, are carried out from Mumbai.
