Saharanpur cops have incited ‘Mr Fix It’ as statues of a father of Indian Constitution — BR Ambedkar — are being targeted and allegedly saffronised.
On a second Bharat Bandh, a leaderless, faceless criticism driven by amicable media, Babasaheb statues were targeted in Badaun and Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. But a military of these dual cities acted with dispatch and bound a vandalised statues immediately.
An Ambedkar statue in Dugraiyya Brahmpur village, Budaun Tehsil, that was vandalised recently was transposed with a new one by a statute Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supervision immediately though embellished in saffron colour.
The occurrence triggered controversy, with a Opposition slamming a saffron party. However, on Tuesday, a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) repainted a statue in blue.
Another Babasaheb statue nearby Saharanpur’s Bhuteshwar church was partially ‘vandalised’, with a left palm damaged. However, Prabal Pratap Singh, additional SP (City), Saharanpur, denied reports of vandalism.
“The land where a statue is commissioned is disputed. Only a apportionment of a smear on a cemented statue had come off. We immediately bound it,” he said.
“In fact, cops could be seen regulating a ‘damaged’ statue. Cops themselves go and correct shop-worn statues in box of teenager repair,” he said.
The Saharanpur Police have also shaped a ‘Poster Party’ that always carries a box of black paint to make inflammatory remarks on eremite places illegible.
“We have been really prompt, shaped committees comprising locals and deployed military and Home Guard crew during supportive spots. The plan has been successful in Saharanpur,” Singh said.
The district administration has also done a list of statue makers in and around a city who are mostly called to correct or reinstate a shop-worn statue.
