Google’s New Initiative to Train 8,000 Journalists on Fact-Checking

To ensure reporters from descending chase to fake news stories, Google India on Tuesday pronounced it will yield training to 8,000 reporters in English and 6 other Indian languages in a subsequent one year.

For this, a Google News Initiative India Training Network will name 200 reporters from cities opposite India who will file their skills in corroboration and training during five-day train-the-trainer foot camps that will be organized for English and 6 other Indian languages.

This network of approved trainers will afterwards sight some-more reporters during two-day, one-day and half-day workshops organized by a Network.

Training workshops will be conducted in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi and Kannada in cities opposite India, Google India pronounced in a statement.

The concentration of a training will be fact-checking, online corroboration and digital hygiene for journalists, regulating a curriculum built by experts from First Draft, Storyful, AltNews, BoomLive, and DataLeads.
